Long weekend - 3 nights
Make a Long Weekend in France into something special when you stay at our luxurious country Manoir. As well as the world famous Chateau Monbazillac we have thousands of viticulteurs who have been making wine in the Bergerac area since Roman time. We organise delectable days in St Emilion with its wonderful wine chateaux, where you will visit vineyards and taste the wines chez les producteurs and very special days to Chateau Haute Garrigue that are really fun.
This is the sort of thing we can organise for you.........
Friday:
You arrive at Bergerac airport where we will greet and collect you.Time allowing, we then take you to visit Old Town Bergerac which is very picturesque and where you can wander through the streets and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine. It's about half an hour's drive home to Domaine des Faures, then Aperitifs with us on the terrace with local wines. Dinner is in Cadouin overlooking the abbey and square.
Saturday:
Start with a leisurely breakfast at Domaine des Faures with Wine Specialist Caroline Freely and then leave for St. Emilion with Caroline who will take you to all the best places. Lunch in St Emilion and then continue with more opportunities to taste and buy wines if you wish. Dinner in Monpazier, our beautiful bastide village.
Sunday:
Starts again with a leisurely breakfast after which we drive you to Chateau Haute Garrigue, the organic vineyard owned by Sean and Caroline Freely. The morning is spent learning more about wine and its production followed by a light lunch al fresco at Chateau Haute Garrigue. In the afternoon a unique opportunity:make your own wine!- (we help with the process) Then there is Afternoon Tea and Patisserie- in case you've had enough of the grape, followed by a Vineyard Walk to work up an appetite for local wine Aperitifs and Dinner at Domaine des Faures.
Monday:
Late start if you wish, and breakfast, after which we drive you to Monbazillac for a Tour of the Chateau and more Wine Tasting. Depending on flight times we then either drive you to a local restaurant where you can buy a meal or straight to Bergerac Airport.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Short Break - 4 nights
This short break includes the days at St Emilion and Chateau Haute Garrigue with the addition of the opportunity to spend time with local Michelin starred chef at the cooking studio where you will have fun creating and then eating, dishes using local produce.
There are two choices of workshop.
1) Visit a local morning market with the chef and buy your ingredients with him before returning to his cooking studio to prepare the meal which you then enjoy altogether.
or
2) Arrive at 5.00pm to prepare a 3 course meal with him which you then enjoy together.
So a short break would be something along the following:
