Domaine des Faures

The perfect country base for visiting the gardens of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne.

Although not as well known as the gardens of the Loire, Normandy and Provence, the Dordogne and the Lot et Garonne also have beautiful and inspiring gardens to explore and enjoy. We have spent many very pleasant hours discovering both private and public gardens and if your idea of a perfect holiday is being able to do just that, then Domaine des Faures is for you.

The climate and the soil are notoriously difficult but the result of hard work and careful planting have created gardens that have excellent form but that are also colourful.

Below is just a sample of the wonderful gardens to visit. As we discover more so the list inevitably grows longer and longer.

We also offer full guided 'Garden Tours'. For more information go to http://www.frenchgardenadventures.com

During our time in France we have been fortunate in meeting and linking up with a professional chef who used to work in a Michelin starred restaurant and now offers both classes and table d'hôte and a qualified wine connoisseur who offers both wine and wine with food courses. Their knowledge is comprehensive and they impart it enthusiastically. These holidays are proving popular especially with small groups of friends.

Spring and Autumn are wonderful for those who enjoy cycling. The weather is not too hot and the lanes quiet which makes for  pleasurable riding. A local bike hire company rents excellent quality bikes for those who come by plane and we will organise the rental, collection and return if guests so require.
