June is a wonderful month to
enjoy the balmy weather and the Dordogne without the crowds.

Domaine des Faures is a secluded country estate situated in the Dordogne area of SW France between St. Emilion and Sarlat, near the famous bastide village of Monpazier. This area of France is known as the 'Land of 1001 Chateaux'. Once a prestigious bastide (or walled) farm it has been carefully renovated. The manor house provides either luxury B&B or self-catering accommodation (which has been awarded 4 stars ****) in a very peaceful location not far from the Dordogne valley and river with its beautiful historic towns of Bergerac, Domme and Beynac.

The manor is situated 1.5km from the local facilities in Monpazier, with a footpath from the manor to this bastide village which is claimed to be on the Compostela Way. Another route leads to the Chateau de Biron which is a very pleasant stroll. A selection of maps showing local walks are available at the house.

The manor, dated 1673 and steeped in history, has been completely renovated in the traditional style while providing every comfort required by the discerning guest. The emphasis is on quality and luxury with geothermal heating and log fires for the cooler months and ceiling fans for the warmer. Available all year either as bed and breakfast (Closed for B&B during July/August) or a holiday rental, it is perfectly situated for visiting wine chateaux, beautiful gardens, glorious bastide towns, sampling the local gourmet foods or enjoying a more active holiday.
