Domaine des Faures is a secluded country estate situated in the Dordogne area of SW France near the famous bastide village of Monpazier. Once a prestigious bastide (or walled) farm it has been carefully renovated. The manor house provides either luxury B&B or self-catering accommodation (which has been awarded 4 stars ****) in a beautiful location not far from the Dordogne valley and the historic towns of Bergerac, Domme and Sarlat. The manor is situated 1.5km from the local facilities in Monpazier, with a footpath from the manor to this bastide village which is claimed to be on the Compostela Way. The manor, dated 1673 and steeped in history, has been completely renovated in the traditional style while providing every comfort required by the discerning guest. The emphasis is on quality and luxury with geothermal heating and log fires for the cooler months and ceiling fans for the warmer. Available all year either as bed and breakfast or a holiday rental it is perfectly situated for visiting wine chateaux and enjoying the local gourmet foods or enjoying a more active holiday.
