Domaine des Faures is a secluded country estate situated in the Dordogne area of SW France between St. Emilion and Sarlat, near the famous bastide village of Monpazier. This area of France is known as the  'Land of 1001 Chateaux'. Once a prestigious bastide (or walled) farm it is situated in a very peaceful location not far from the Dordogne valley and river with its beautiful historic towns of Bergerac, Domme and Beynac and the world heritage site of Lascaux and its pre-historic cave paintings.Only1.5km from the local facilities in Monpazier there is a footpath from the manor to this bastide village which is claimed to be on the Compostela Way. Another route leads to the Chateau de Biron which is a very pleasant stroll.

 

       

  

 

 

The manor, dated 1673 and steeped in history, has been completely renovated using traditional materials while providing every comfort required by the discerning guest. The emphasis is on quality and comfort and it is perfectly situated for visiting wine chateaux, beautiful gardens, glorious bastide towns, sampling the local gourmet foods or enjoying a more active holiday.Situated in its own organic 100 acre farm,with wonderful views to the beautiful historic bastide town of Monpazier, and nearby Chateau Biron,this large country house has delightful gardens where you can relax, a pond where you can fish and a private heated swimming pool situated in its own secure garden.
