In this southern part of the Dordogne sunflowers are a very important crop. The countryside becomes a blaze of colour as the yellow heads seek the sun. The insects absolutely adore them.
Monpazier Medieval Fete

Every year we celebrate in Monpazier with a medieval festival. Monpazier was built by the English King Edward 1st and so is steeped in history. It is considered one of the best preserved bastide villages and is indeed very special. This year they have decided to add to the publicity with a ‘castle’ which can be viewed from the road leading to the village. I should imagine they had great fun building it.
Bergerac

Bergerac has been the focus of wonderful renovations making it an even better place to visit and spend time while on holiday. Of course certain things such as the statue in honour of Cyrano de Bergerac remain as an integral part of the history and culture.
