A fabulous year for wild orchids

This year has been exceptional in the number of wild orchids. they have been popping up all over the fields and we even found two outside the kitchen window under the tree. The meadows are looking wonderfully lush.

One of the many wonderful things about living at Domaine des Faures are the beautiful views across the countryside. Being at the top of the valley hillside means we have a glorious 360 degree panorama to enjoy.
Barn Owl and Bats

Wandering down to the barns early the other morning we were delighted by one of our resident barn owls swooping over our heads while bats were dashing around collecting insects for their breakfast. It was a wonderful way to start the day.
