Bergerac has been the focus of wonderful renovations making it an even better place to visit and spend time while on holiday. Of course certain things such as the statue in honour of Cyrano de Bergerac remain as an integral part of the history and culture.
Chateau de Campagne

We had a really pleasant stroll round the park of the Chateau de Campagne. After many years of trying the commune has eventually been given the responsibility for the chateau and park and is busy renovating the building having restored the park as a community area.

Summer is a time spent outdoors and this area of France is very keen on displaying new works of art in the garden. At Jardin d’Eyrignac they have a new exhibition of wire sculptures. They add in a positive way to what is a wonderful garden.

We have had a wonderfully hectic time showing guests the beautiful gardens of the Dordogne through our French Garden Adventures. Plants have really bloomed this year and the irises have been exceptional. The iris farm with its picturesque windmill was a big hit.

With Easter this weekend and the start of the new season, preparations are nearly complete and we are looking forward to meeting our guests both new and repeat visitors. The Spring festivals will also commence and they are always great fun.

We love this time of year when the longer days and added warmth mean we can spend our time in the garden. The outdoor life certainly suits us as we thoroughly enjoy watching nature awaken after the winter.
Fragrant wisteria

With the glorious spring we have been enjoying the wisteria by our front door has excelled. The fragrance is just amazing.
Orchards

This area is famed for its plum farms producing the most wonderful prunes which in turn are used for both savoury and sweet dishes. With the increasing warmth and longer days we can look forward to enjoying the wonderful fields covered in blossom.
First Daffodils

The daffodils under our ancient cross are always the first to appear. The warmth from the wall and the shelter of the trees must make for a cosy spot.
Hellebores

This is the first year I have tried growing Hellebores outside the front of the house. I’m really quite pleased with how they have progressed and coped with the occasional frost. They certainly brighten up the two stone pots.
